Hey, everyone! Another unseasonably warm day here...it really doesn't feel like Thanksgiving is just around the corner!

Today I'm sharing a card I made for my SIL. She is hosting Thanksgiving this year, and I really appreciate it, so I'll be giving her this along with a little something extra...got any ideas what I could give as a small hostess gift? Suggestions welcome!

Happy Monday! Hope you had a nice weekend. I spent most of mine at home. I don't know if it's the cooler weather or that we just bought a new range, but I was a foodie fiend this weekend. I cooked 3 homemade dinners, 2 kinds of muffins for breakfast, and some pumpkin spice cake. Hoping to continue the trend by making some homemade soup tonight.

Just wanted to share this card I made for a co-worker's birthday today. I wanted to do a twist on the traditional birthday images, so I used a pumpkin instead. Do you think she'll like it?

TGIF! Can you believe today is the first day of October? The school year is flying by so far...I suppose the holidays will be here before we know it!

Just wanted to share a quick CAS card to celebrate fall. The weather here is finally starting to cool off...I made chili for dinner yesterday...and it's only a matter of time before the leaves start falling. Fall festivals are happening everywhere, and apple picking is well under way. So get out there and "enjoy the moment!"

Hey, all! It's Tuesday, and I'm SUPER excited because tonight's the season premiere of Glee! Any other Gleeks out there? I'm seriously considering dressing as Sue Sylvester for Halloween this year!

I've got a little gift/card combo to share with you today. I played along with Caardvarks Clean & Simple Challenge AND the Embellish Paper Piecing Color Challenge...the colors were so fabulous, I just couldn't resist! I really love the way the paper pieced greens & yellow look against the kraft background, don't you?

I ended up liking my card so much, I wanted to put together a matching gift. So I dug this candle out of my gift drawer (do you have one of those, too?) and spruced it up with cardstock, stamps, and some ribbon. I think it'll make a sweet gift for a co-worker of mine.

Hey, everyone! Hope your week is going well. My life is absolutely crazy right now, so I've barely had time to craft at all. I keep hoping things will slow down, but I don't see that happening anytime soon.

The Road Less Traveled

Hi, all! Happy Tuesday! It's a nice feeling knowing that I only have a four-day work week ahead of me. Woohoo for three-day weekends!

I had fun combining three challenges for this card--this week's Mojo Monday sketch, the Stamp Something challenge to use brown, and the Caardvarks challenge to use some fun ribbon. This is one of my favorite sentiments from Verve...Iwon't get all English teacher on you, but just know Robert Frost is my favorite poet. :)

Simple Fall Card

Happy Saturday! It's a beautiful sunny day here...a perfect fall day after a week of rain, rain, rain. Hubby and I are heading out soon to do some furniture shopping, but I wanted to make and post a quick card first.

I used FTL63 for my layout...I think I found my Christmas card layout with this easy sketch. I won a bunch of pretty Making Memories papers from Paper Crafts, and they'd work perfectly with this design. Woohoo!

That being said, I really lucked out. My leafy panel came from the local hospital's seasonal magazine, and the yellow-y layer under my sentiment is the packaging from a free sample.

Hi, all! We're half way to the weekend--woohoo! I don't know about you, but I'm definitely ready!

My card today uses Laura's Sketch 35 from 2S4Y. I just had to use some more of my new SU paper. I had fun mixing the distressed look of the paper with the sparkly ribbon and pearls. What do you think?

Hello, Fall!

Happy Saturday! Hope your weekend is off to a good start. My day includes a rare Saturday afternoon football game, then coming home to a Crock-Pot meal, mmm...

Today's card is a two-fer, using FTL60 and the My Time color challenge. These colors were perfect for a simple fall card.

I'm still battling this nasty cold...On Thursday I actually had to stop teaching about ten minutes before school ended because my voice simply wouldn't work anymore. So I made the executive decision to stay home yesterday and let my voice rest. Still can't shake my cough, and I feel like my ears are starting to clog...say a prayer I'm better soon!

Get Sketchy Challenge #6

Happy Friday! Time for another Get Sketchy challenge. This week's sketchy comes with a bonus challenge to use NO patterned paper...think you can handle it?




I took on that bold bonus challenge by creating a CAS masculine card. I embossed the Chocolate Chip panels with my Houndstooth folder, and the leaves are punched out on textured cardstock to give it some interest (and you know how I love my texture). I finished it off with some pearls and a simple sentiment.

Hello!

Hi, all! Happy Tuesday! I'm still recovering from a wicked cold, and now I've almost lost my voice. Teaching should be fun tomorrow, right?

On a happier note, I came home today to find a box of new SU goodies waiting for me! I fell in love with the Autumn Meadows paper in the mini-catalog, so that was the first thing I tore open. The paper has a distressed look, so I added to it by roughing up the edges a little. I added a flower, brad, and sentiment to finish it off. Easy peasy!

Happy Tuesday! Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. I spent time at my sister's vacation home in Michigan. We had so much fun--jet skiing, shopping, great food, and lots of laughter.

Limelight Project Parade!

Today is the sixth of the month, so it's time for the fabulous Limelight Project Parade! This month we are showing off fall and/or Halloween projects.

As a teacher, fall means back to work, and although this early in the year we have mostly "happy days," it's still nice to offer my fellow co-workers a little pick-me-up. So I decorated a treat bag and filled it with an assortment of Hershey's nuggets. Chocolate always makes for a happy day, right?

I LOVE this yummy October Afternoon Cherry Hill paper. I think the olive is just perfect for autumn projects. I added a Prima flower, BasicGrey button, Kaisercraft pearls, and some beautiful May Arts ribbon to finish off my bag.

I wanted to make a coordinating card, but not an exact match, so I omitted the ribbon, instead stamping a sentiment from October Afternoon's Cherry Hill stamp set with Adirondack Espresso ink.

I've got a fun card to share with you today. I loved Dawn's colors for this week's Raspberry Suite Color Challenge. The fall-inspired colors got me thinking about warm apple cider and hot chocolate, so I inked up my Let's Get Together set from There She Goes. I paper pieced my cup and added some crimped paper to mimic a coffee cup sleeve. Fall also makes me think of fleece and fuzzy sweaters, so I added felt ribbon and a corduroy brad for some texture. What do you think?
