Happy Friday eve! I need the weekend like you would not believe...been working nonstop days from 7:30 a.m. 'til 9:30 or 10:00 at night, and I am exhausted. If I had the time, I'd be counting down the days to summer!
I've got a quick card for you that I whipped up a few days ago. I played along with the Etsy Inspired challenge. This week's shop is Handmade Whimzy, and I chose this apron as my inspiration.
I also played with this week's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You and flipped it sideways to work for me. I pulled out some old American Crafts papers and my Chatterbox stamps from Practicing Creativity Designs.I made this one for my sister...she hosted a bunch of family at her vacation home over Labor Day weekend, so I needed to get a thank you out to her. Yikes! It's almost back to school time for me! Friday is my official first day, although I'm busy getting everything ready all week long. My students return on Wednesday of next week. I'm again teaching freshmen in English & speech, and I'm looking forward to teaching creative writing to juniors & seniors...haven't taught it in a couple of years, but it's always a fun class. As soon as August arrives, my thoughts turn to school. Since today's 365 Cards challenge was to be inspired by August, I decided to make some back-to-school treats for my co-workers.
I flipped Laura's Sketch 58 and used the layout for my topper. I filled the bags with some yummy Crystal Light packets. It's nothing special, but any little gift counts as we get ready for another crazy year!Hope you like it!Stamps: Teacher's Apple, Signature Greetings (PTI)

Hey, all! Sorry I've been slacking on the posts lately. I've had NO mojo since coming back from my vacation, so I've been spending time fixing up the house. I'm getting ready to tackle the kitchen...nothing too major...just paint, hardware for the cabinets, and some new shelves & artwork to hang. Other than that, I've just been freshening things up in general--new bedding, pillows & throws for the living room, etc.Today was the first day I felt that creative spark...I had Kazan's Sketch 57 in my head and finally came up with an idea I'm fairly happy with. When I saw the three circles on
the sketch, I immediately thought of this balloon stamp...but then I got stuck on the scalloped layer. I didn't want patterned paper or ribbon or anything...I felt it'd be too busy. And then I finally realized I could do clouds since they've got scalloped edges anyway. Yay! I finished it off with some "grass" at the bottom. Hope you like it!Stamps: Everyday Button Bits, Mega Mixed Messages (PTI), Head in the Clouds (Sassafras)
Paper: Green Galore, Cool Caribbean, PTI white

I really wish I could live up to my post title and just RELAX...this is most stressful time of the year for me. It's the end of school, and the work is piling up...FAST! I expect it, but this year there's been a few surprises thrown in that have upset/irritated/stressed me more than usual. Needless to say, a day at the beach sounds heavenly right about now.All the stress inspired me to create this soothing scene. I started with Kazan's Sketch 52. The bottom layers became ocean waves and sand...I sponged each to add depth and tore the edge of the kraft layer. Then I stamped my scene, popping the umbrella up on dimensionals and adding some bling to my sun. Hope you like it!Today's your last chance to enter my blog candy giveaway...a $25 gift certificate to Papertrey is up for grabs! I'll draw a winner tomorrow.Stamps: Day at the Beach (PTI)

Hello! Hope your weekend is going great so far! Hubby's birthday is Monday, so we're celebrating tonight with a fancy steakhouse dinner and who knows what else.I stopped at Michaels the other day...I hadn't been in quite a while, but I had a coupon and gift card, so it was a guilt-free day. One of my purchases was this cute scooter stamp from Imaginisce. Since I stamped it on pink cardstock, I decided not to color any of it except the heart, which I filled with a red glitter pen. I also found this yummy satin ribbon in the $1 bin...it goes well with Aqua Mist, don't you think? AND I finally used an SU corduroy brad...been hoarding those suckers for a while now. Hey there! Happy hump day! Still no sunshine here; in fact, it feels like 1 degree right now...BUT despite that, I'm feeling quite cheerful and springlike!I must say that I'm pretty much in LOVE with today's card. Not only do I adore the color combo, but I also used some new goodies--Verve stamps, PTI stamps and ribbon, and that Maya Road stick pin. I used Laura's Sketch 44 for my layout.
I made this for my friend, Jenelle, who struggles with several debilitating (and unfortunately) terminal illnesses. She can definitely use a bit of cheer in her life right now. If you are so inclined, please keep her in your prayers!

I spent this morning crafting and doing a little online shopping...just using up some Papertrey gift certificates...doesn't get better than that, does it? Later I'm heading over to my SU demo's for a little SAB party. I love hanging out with crafty girls...they understand my obsession!
Today's card is for two challenges: Kazan's sketch 44 and Little Red Wagon challenge 11--to use dots. I just love cherries, and on a cold, cloudy day like today, it gives me hope for spring!
Oh, I almost forgot...I made Top Trio over at 365 Cards this week...for this valentine. Woohoo!

I don't know about you, but it's been so cold lately, all I want to do is stay at home, snuggling up with my hubby and sipping on hot chocolate. My card today was inspired by those feelings.
I combined two challenges: Laura's Sketch 43 (which I flipped on its side) and today's 365 Cards challenge to use a house on your card. I finally inked up this wonderful image from Waltzingmouse Stamps. I wanted to keep the card simple, so I only colored the thatched roof and red door, then added a bit of Stickles for some snow.
Sending warm wishes your way!
Stamps: Irish Blessings (Waltzingmouse Stamps), All Occasion (Hero Arts)
Paper: Real Red, kraft, white
Ink: Real Red
Accessories: PTI ribbon, Diamond Stickles, Copic markers
Happy Friday! Any fun plans for your weekend? With all the snow and bitterly cold temps, we plan on staying in...lots of snuggling and hot chocolate on the agenda!
Speaking of snow, I was inspired by yesterday's snow day to make a fun little card for a co-worker. The chipboard is part of the blog candy I won from Sarah--cute, huh? I thought the polka-dotted background looked like snow (and it conveniently worked out for Crazy 4 Challenges 18). I also tried to use Kazan's Sketch 43, but I'm not sure it turned out right in the end...oh, well, I think it's cute, and the sketch is what inspired me in the first place, so I'm sharing it anyway. I'm such a rebel....bwhahaha!!!
Have a fabulous weekend!
