Birthday Cupcake

Happy Sunday, all! Hope you're having a good weekend. I have the day off tomorrow for President's Day, so I will be a busy little bee in my craft room. Hoping to catch up on some DT work as well as whip up a few things for some pub calls. I'm getting behind with all the work I'm doing on my school's musical...three-hour rehearsals 4 nights a week! Forgive me if I don't make it around to your blog as often as I usually do.

It's rainy here today...perfect for crafting...so I got busy with a few challenges. I combined Papertrey's Make It Monday #2 (use a vellum sentiment strip) with JUGS72 (aqua, melon, & kraft) & the Totally Stampalicious challenge to add glitter or bling. I glittered the frosting on my cupcake...I figure if you can't eat it, at least I can make it pretty to look at, right?

Hope you like it!

Sweet Birthday Card

Happy Sunday, everyone! Hope you all had a great Halloween! Hubby and I went to see Paranormal Activity--what a fun thiller to see on Halloween night!

I had a little time today to make this sweet, simple card using Beate's WSC104. I used glitter pens on the cupcakes to add a bit of sparkle and accented it with this fun dotted paper from Pink Paisley. This will go in my stash that I sell to co-workers.

Get Sketchy #8

Hello and happy Friday! Time for another fun challenge from Get Sketchy! This week's sponsor is Pebbles Inc. You can get your hands on some FREE Pebbles goodies if you play along with us! Bonus points if you use brads on your creation this week.

The design team got to play with a bunch of Pebbles' ADORABLE products. My hubby can testify that I was literally giddy when I first saw these supplies! I was giggling over this polka dot pattern for sure!

All of the papers except the white cardstock are Pebbles products, along with the ribbon and fun candy dots...that is the actual name of the product--I wasn't sure whether to eat 'em or craft with 'em! TOO fun!

Hope to see you all playing along this week...be sure to link up your card on the Get Sketchy blog.

Cupcake Wishes

Hi, all! Just popping in with a quick card I whipped up using Laura's sketch at 2 Sketches 4 You. I've been wanting to play with this yummy felt cupcake from Paper Blooms, and when I came across this scrap of paper in my stash, ta-da! This card practically made itself.

Hope your week is going well. I'm looking forward to the weekend already...

Happy Birthday, Amy!

Today is my blogging buddy Amy's birthday! And before you ask, she's...ahem...29. Smileys

I made this card for her using Kazan's sketch 32 over at 2S4Y. Cupcakes are one of her many loves, so I had to incorporate those. AND I know she hoards her Martha Stewart cupcakes, so I figured I'd use one of mine and show her how freeing it can be. Smileys

I also asked the talented Leah from Paper Blooms to make these felt cupcakes for Amy. Hopefully she'll like them. What do YOU think?

An Ode to Amy

Well, so much for my outdoorsy plans with hubby today. Last night my brother called with an extra ticket to the Cubs game, so he's off in Chicago right now (as I sit here typing this in my Cardinals t-shirt). BUT, that means I had some unexpected crafty time, and I'm so glad I did, because today's 365 Cards challenge is just plain fun. You are to choose one of the DT cards and CASE it.

Of course, I had to select a card from my blogging bud, Amy! I chose to CASE this card (which, BTW, I happen to now have in my possession. Yeah, I know you're jealous.) I decided to pay tribute to two of Ms. Amy's loves: cupcakes and Sassafras. And the sentiment is something I could imagine her saying. Love ya, Amy!

Super Happy Birthday!

We have another fun CAS challenge lined up for you this week. It's a theme this time: birthday cards.

I hadn't used my cupcake punch in a while, so that was my starting point. I used textured cardstock to give the cupcake some dimension, then outlined the frosting with a glitter pen. I mounted it on dimensionals and layered it on top of a couple of other punches. Only after I was finished did I realize that my layout is this week's Card Patterns sketch--Yay! Happy accident!

Now, don't you wanna play along? C'mon, everyone can use a few more b-day cards in their stash! Head over to the Splitcoast CAS forum for all the details.

Paper: Kraft, Pink Pirouette textured, PTI white, Bazzill white textured, dp (unknown--RAK) Accessories: ribbon (Ribbon fX), rub-on (SU), Sakura glitter pen, Martha Stewart cupcake punch, circle punch, designer label punch, paper piercer, dimensionals

Hey There, Cupcake!

This week's Raspberry Suite color challenge had me using all kinds of food names--Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla, Melon Berry, and Berry Sorbet. I was so hungry, I just had to use my new Papertrey cupcake set! I love that there are so many ways to mix the tops and bottoms on these cupcakes. I added some pearls to mine, which (although it doesn't look like it in the pic) closely match Melon Berry. I finished it off with some fun pom pom trim. What do you think?

Cupcake Sprinkles

I follow the Hero Arts blog, but up until now I haven't participated in any of their challenges. So, what inspired me to finally join in?

This week they are featuring a different guest artist each day, and the challenge is to use the artist's work to inspire you. Well, Monday's artist was Lucy Abrams. I adore Lucy's cards. If you haven't seen her blog, go take a peek. Seriously. Her stuff rocks.

I chose this card as my inspiration. I love the look of bright colors paired with kraft, especially for a birthday card. And, although you can't see it in the pic, I used a glitter pen on my heart and cupcake sprinkles. Looks good enough to eat, doesn't it?

Stamps: Clear Cupcakes (Hero Arts)
Paper: Pixie Pink textured, Pink Passion textured, PTI white
Ink: Adirondack Pitch Black
Accessories: Nestabilities circles & scalloped circles, Copic marker, pink glitter pen (Spica), ribbon (Ribbon fX), buttons (BasicGrey), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, Martha Stewart scalloped dot punch
