EBTKS Challenge 28

Hi, everyone! It's time for another Everything But the Kitchen Sink challenge! It is with mixed emotions that we announce this will be the final EBTKS challenge. We have enjoyed all of the challenges & your creativity in completing them, and we want to say a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has participated in this venture over the past year. However, the entire EBTKS team has gotten busier, so the time is right for us to move on.

Now, before you get too sad, let's talk about our final challenge. I am the hostess this time, & I was inspired by this velvet pillow & fleece blanket on my couch...so our focus this time is on TEXTURES! Think felt, flocking, ribbons/fibers, even dry embossing.

Our wonderful sponsor this time around is Limelight Papercrafts!

If you haven't heard, Limelight is also closing its doors, so you will want to hurry over to get some AMAZING deals on stamps, rhinestones, paper, and more!

Our winner for this challenge will receive this prize pack from Webster's Pages, which includes a vellum & die cut kit along with the Whimsy Heart Perfect Pack.

Now on to my project. I absolutely LOVE felt, especially for wintry projects...there's just something so warm and inviting about felt that fits the season perfectly.

SO, I chose to make a little treat bag using some new goodies from Papertrey Ink. The mug and scalloped layer are both made from yummy Hawaiian Shores felt.

And you're probably wondering what's inside, right?
Take a peek...

Nothing mind-blowing, but I thought'd make a sweet little thank you for my sister-in-law, who was our Thanksgiving hostess this year.

So, ready to play along? Just link up your finished creation on the EBTKS blog. You have until midnight CST on Thurs., Dec. 9 to be eligible for the prize.

I can't wait to see what you create!

You know I had to play along, not only to support my buddy, but also because these colors are right up my alley!

This week's Limelight Sketch & Product Challenge focuses on sentiments.

I thought it'd be the perfect time for me to use this awesome Irish set from Waltzingmouse Stamps. As an Irish girl, these stamps are right up my alley and just perfect for St. Patty's Day cards. What do you think?

Twinkle Brightly

Hi, everyone! I trust you all had a wonderful Christmas. We had a change of plans due to Mother Nature...an ice storm and power outage at my in-laws on Christmas Eve meant we spent our holiday with my side of the family. We then planned to travel to the in-laws yesterday...but the huge snowfall had us canceling our plans again. Hopefully, we'll be able to visit them next weekend to exchange presents.

Today's card is an easy CAS card. I played along with
Limelight Sketch & Product Challenge #37--to use stars. The card is for my niece, M. She's a gymnast, so I'll send this to her before one of her meets. She loves bright colors, so I'll think she'll like this.

Stamps: Starlight Starbright Remixed (Verve)
Paper: Old Olive, Raspberry Fizz

Ink: Basic Black

Accessories: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, Ribbon fX ribbon, dimensionals

Limelight Sketch & Product Challenge #30

Happy Thursday! It's time for another Limelight Sketch & Product Challenge! This week's focus is on patterned paper. We also have a little something SNEAKY up our sleeves for you...an extra HIDDEN prize! Be sure to check out all the DT blogs, because one lucky commenter will win the new BasicGrey Indian Summer Pops!
I don't usually start my wintry crafting until November, but I've been looking through my copy of Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More this week, and it really inspired me. I was even whistling Christmas tunes as I read!

So, I pulled out this fun Cosmo Cricket Golly By Jolly paper and got to work. I pulled all my colors from this sweet snowflake pattern and found cardstock to match. I punched a few snowflakes, stamped my sentiment, and added plenty of bling with some Kaisercraft rhinestones. I've found the Island Lagoon rhinestones coordinate so well with PTI's Aqua Mist, and the Soft Pink rhinestones go great with Sweet Blush.

The Details:
**Use the sketch above and dress it up with your favorite PATTERNED PAPER!!

**Key word for SCS upload is LLPC030
**Post a comment with a link to your card on Mandy's blog by Sunday, September 20, at midnight (or before winner is drawn Monday a.m.).

**PRIZE ~ One lucky winner will receive the Unity Stamp Co. Hauntingly Sweet Stamp Set!

Stamps: Cold Play (SU)
Paper: Ocean Tides, Aqua Mist, Sweet Blush, Cosmo Cricket dp

Limelight Project Parade!

Today is the sixth of the month, so it's time for the fabulous Limelight Project Parade! This month we are showing off fall and/or Halloween projects.

As a teacher, fall means back to work, and although this early in the year we have mostly "happy days," it's still nice to offer my fellow co-workers a little pick-me-up. So I decorated a treat bag and filled it with an assortment of Hershey's nuggets. Chocolate always makes for a happy day, right?

I LOVE this yummy October Afternoon Cherry Hill paper. I think the olive is just perfect for autumn projects. I added a Prima flower, BasicGrey button, Kaisercraft pearls, and some beautiful May Arts ribbon to finish off my bag.

I wanted to make a coordinating card, but not an exact match, so I omitted the ribbon, instead stamping a sentiment from October Afternoon's Cherry Hill stamp set with Adirondack Espresso ink.

Be sure to check out the rest of the DT's creations: Mandy, Amy, Lorie, Lisa, Lee, JenMarie, and Ryann.

Limelight Sketch & Product Challenge #29

Hi, all! Here's my first DT project for the Limelight Papercrafts Sketch and Product Challenge! Hope you are ready to bring out those dots, because that's what we are focusing on this week--polka dotted papers, embossed dots, pearls, rhinestones, pebbles, etc. But don't forget...if you do NOT have any dots, be creative when interpreting the theme, or just omit the dots altogether! We still want you to play along! :)

Wow, talk about a challenge...I *had to* use dots on my card...but, hey, I'm willing to make the sacrifice. That's just the kind of giving person I am... Smileys

For my card I chose to mix these yummy BasicGrey Lemonade papers with some polka dotted paper from the October Afternoon Cherry Hill Collection. Then I went crazy with the bling by adding a bunch of Kaisercraft rhinestones. I seriously can't get enough of this stuff lately. If you don't own any, you seriously need to check out the selection Mandy has--she's got them in all kinds of fab colors (I think I own about a dozen...not to mention all the Kaisercraft pearls I own!).

The Details:

My Wonderful Friend

It's time again for another Limelight sketch & product challenge. The focus this time is on buttons. I was able to combine something old and new on this card. My new goodies are the paper and buttons from BasicGrey's Lemonade line. The something old is Purely Pomegranate and Soft Sky cardstock, which goes so well with the BG stuff. My hoarding came in handy today! ;)

I also learned that I can use a rub-on, then run it through my Cuttlebug without ruining it. I thought maybe the sentiment might crack or something, but it turned out just fine.

Speaking of Limelight, I'm getting some free goodies from them for winning last week's Etsy Inspired challenge. Woohoo! You can't go wrong with free goodies!

Paper: Purely Pomegranate, Soft Sky, BasicGrey dp
Accessories: flowers (Prima), buttons (BasicGrey), rub-on (SU), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots

Texture in the Limelight

I made this card for the Limelight sketch challenge this week. We were also challenged to incorporate textured products into our design.

I started with Core'dinations Strawberries-n-Cream cardstock, embossed it, then sanded it. I LOVE this stuff! You can sand, tear, or antique the cardstock to reveal a core color inside.
I also used this fun flower embellishment from American Crafts made of felt, foam, and faux leather to add even more texture. I added some simple stamping to finish it off.

Stamps: Baroque Motifs (SU), Beautiful You (Verve)
Paper: Whisper White, PTI Berry Sorbet & Sweet Blush, Core'dinations Strawberries-n-Cream
Ink: Pretty in Pink, PTI Berry Sorbet
Accessories: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, sanding block, flower embellishment (American Crafts)
