For Jenelle

If you haven't already, I'd love for you to enter my blogoversary giveaway.

A dear friend is having serious surgery next week, so I wanted to make a special card for her. She suffers from several debilitating illnesses and really struggles with even getting out of bed in the morning. I want her to have this by her bedside while she's in the hospital.

I turned to Raspberry Suite Color Challenge #11 for my inspiration. I didn't have any light gray cardstock, so I used a darker one and some light gray patterned paper instead. I wanted to experiment with some tissue paper flowers, only to discover that hubby had used up all the pink for my birthday presents (and I can't complain; the man actually bothered to wrap my gifts). So, instead I used Raspberry Fizz cardstock. The flower was easy to make: I just cut out layers with my Nesties, embossed them with my Cuttlebug, then bent the edges a bit. The leaves were cut freehand, then crumpled for some dimension.

I really hope my friend will love this card. What do you think?

Stamps: Always in My Thoughts (SU)
Paper: Basic Gray, Basic Black, Very Vanilla, Garden Green, PTI Raspberry Fizz, October Afternoon dp
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Nestabilities blossoms, scalloped edge punch, designer label punch, corner rounder punch, Cuttlebug Houndstooth, button, ribbon (SU), pearls (Kaisercraft)
