So Long, Farewell

You may have guessed from my title that The Sound of Music is the featured film for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge this week. Like many of you, I love this movie and watch it every year on television.

I was inspired to use the song, "So Long, Farewell" for my card. It's for a foreign language teacher at my school who's leaving at the end of the semester, so I thought "auf Wiedersehen," "adieu," and "au revoir" would make the perfect sentiments.
I typed some of the lyrics on my computer, then printed them out and used them as the background. I also drew inspiration from the dresses the girls wear in this scene, pulling out the colors, flowers, and lace for my card.
Papers: Barely Banana, PTI white
Accessories: scallop edge punch, flowers (Prima), paper lace & pearls (unknown)

The card is fabulous. I love using song lyrics on cards and layouts.

Anyways, the colors are perfect, the font you used is great, and the accents are wonderful too. Yep. I like this a lot!

I love that you typed the lyrics. When in doubt make your own paper. That's my theory as well... The yellow color is very sweet... Thanks for playing along... We love seeing your face and or name pop up in our e-mail...

Hi Ann,

Your card is just beautiful - love the flower and you were just so creative to print out a sheet with all the ways to say goodbye in the different languages for the foreign language teacher -- wow!! (which font did you use - it is so pretty!) The pearls and lace add just such sweetness! I know she will LOVe your card!

Just wanted to thank you so much for playing along in these challenges - its always so great to see what awesome creations you have cooked up! And I haven't forgotten about Gracie's inspired embellishments - it has been so hard to get to the post office recently - the lines are so long and to go there with 2 kids under the age of 4 is just crazy! i can't wait for you to see them! my parent's are here visiting so I can actually go without any kids in tow!!

hope you are doing well!! sending you a ton of happy wishes!!
Sankari :)

This is gorgeous! I've thought of typing the words to the Star Spangled Banner to do a patriotic card, but wasn't sure how to pull it off. This is really inspiring.
