Inspired by Scarlett

This week's movie for the Cinema Saturday Challenge is Gone with the Wind. One of my most vivid memories of this movie is the scene where Scarlett grips the bedpost while Mammy pulls that corset tighter and tighter. As a girl I remember watching it and thinking, "Thank God I was born in the 20th century!"

In honor of that scene, I made a corset card following Sara Sandberg's corset template. I ran the corset through the Cuttlebug to add a lacy effect, then added the eyelets and laced the ribbon through the holes. I finished it off with a few rhinestones just for fun.

Paper: Lavender Lace, Whisper White
Accessories: Cuttlebug textile texture, eyelets (Making Memories), ribbon (Offray), rhinestones (The Paper Studio)

Mmm...Hot Chocolate!

When I saw the latest Caardvarks challenge--chocolate--I just had to play along. I'd seen this mug template several months ago and filed it away for use in the colder months. I thought it'd be perfect for this challenge.

After cutting out the mug and adhering it, I ran it through the Cuttlebug. I added the snowflakes and some red rhinestones, the ribbon, and the "sweet" tag & jingle bell. As a final touch, I slipped a packet of Swiss Miss inside. I'll give this to my Secret Santa this Christmas.

Speaking of Christmas, don't forget to sign up to win my Christmas blog candy!

Thinking Outside the Box

This week's Card-A-Licious challenge asked you to "think outside the box" by creating a shaped card. I decided to go with a Christmas theme and make a stocking. I did a Google search to find an image of a stocking, then adjusted the size, printed it, and traced it onto a folded piece of cardstock. I then added some patterned paper, and the cuff at the top. I adhered some Fun Flock to the cuff, along with a snowflake and Dew Drop to finish it off.

Paper: PTI white, Baja Breeze, Holiday Treasures dp (SU)
Accessories: corner rounder punch, Fun Flock (Stampendous), Martha Stewart snowflake punch, Dew Drop
