Happy Summer!

Happy Friday! It's June 1st, so in my book, summer officially starts TODAY!

I'm kicking things off with my entry for the gingham challenge over at Moxie Fab World. I adore gingham; it's one of my favorite prints. I also adore ribbon...as I was looking for ideas for this challenge, I realized I have 14--yes, 14--rolls of gingham ribbon. Maybe I have a problem? No? Alrighty then, moving on to my card...

I originally pulled out yellow, orange, & bright green ribbons, thinking I wanted to do something summery. I eventually came up with the idea to make a sun. It's fun, it's bright...perfect for the beginning of summer!

Hope you like it, too! Have a fabulous weekend!

Stamps: Flipping Out (PTI)
Paper: YoYo Yellow, Only Orange (SU), PTI white

Wee Memories Challenge 33

It's Saturday, so that means it's time for another Wee Memories challenge! This week our challenge is "bowtiful" ribbon. We'd love to see your ribbon creations, especially those bows!

Why bows? Well, our awesome sponsor, Charleston Scrapbook Company, is offering our winner a bow maker!

I wanted my bow to be the focal point of the card, so I went simple with green papers & a sentiment...that beautiful red satin ribbon really pops, don't you think?

We'd love to see YOU playing along with us this week! Link up your ribbon creation to the Wee Memories blog. You have until midnight PST on Fri., Dec. 3 to be eligible for the prize.

I can't wait to see what you create!

Stamps: Signature Christmas (PTI)
Paper: Old Olive, Very Vanilla, SU pp
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: Offray ribbon, dimensionals

Got Ribbon?

Hey, all you ribbon hoarders out there! This challenge is for you! For this week's Paper Blooms challenge, we're asking you to include three pieces of ribbon or trim on your project. I chose to play with two new trims and a scrap from who knows where.

Wanna play along? It's easy: just link up your project on the Paper Blooms blog. You do NOT need to use any Paper Blooms to participate, although if you've got 'em, use 'em!
Stamps: Garden of Life (PTI)
Paper: Very Vanilla, Pink Pirouette
Ink: Pretty in Pink
Accessories: flower (Paper Blooms), button (PTI), trims (Webster's Pages, unknown), Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, corner rounder punch

Ribbon RAK!

Woohoo! I received an envelope bursting with ribbon today thanks to Shelly. She follows my blog and knows how much I love ribbon, so when she decided to do a little spring cleaning, she passed her unloved ribbon on to me. How cool is that? Thanks so much, Shelly! You rock!

More Ribbon Love

I recently participated in a ribbon swap on Splitcoast. These are only a few of the awesome ribbons I received. This was my first time doing a swap like this, and I loved it. I was able to swap out some of my ribbons and get a bunch of new ones to play with. New ribbons--you know I am one happy girl.

The Ribbon Retreat

I love ribbon. Grosgrain, organdy, or satin; solid, striped, or polka-dotted--I love it all. A girl can never have too many ribbons.

My passion (ahem, obsession) for ribbons was evident yesterday as I received my first order from The Ribbon Retreat. I was truly giddy. I literally oohed and aahed over these ribbons. They are not only pretty, but reasonably priced.
Before ordering, I came across this thread on Splitcoast that compares their colors to SU colors. I bought several rolls based on these comparisons, and I'd say they are pretty accurate. I won't say they are exact matches, but they coordinate nicely, so if you're anal about your colors being all matchy-matchy, you may want to order a sample of the ribbon before you buy five yards of it.

Check out the colors in those striped ribbons--yummy! The red/white/pink ribbon has stitching, too! Love it!
If you think I am kidding about my obsession with ribbon, I'm not. This is my first post about ribbon, but it will definitely not be the last...I'm in two ribbon swaps right now. :D
