A CAS Card AND a Toot!

Hey there! I thought I'd start with some fun news: I made Fab 4 at The Play Date Cafe for this card! Woohoo!

I'm in the middle of a MAJOR (and long overdue) cleaning of my craft space, but I wanted to pop in & share a quick CAS card I whipped up yesterday.

I played along with this week's colors over at Colour Q. I thought they'd make a great masculine card...

So here's what I came up with. I love this chair from PTI, & I paired it with this sentiment from A Muse.

Hope you like it!

Stamps: On My Couch (PTI), Relax it's Your Day (A Muse)
Paper: Old Olive, Basic Gray, PTI Kraft & white, SU pp
Ink: Basic Black

Relax, Man

Hi, all! This blog post is most certainly cursed. The first time I tried to photograph this card, my camera batteries died. By the time I'd recharged them, the sun had gone away. Then Blogger decided to go on the fritz and just now started working again...it's been down since last night--SO frustrating! I haven't been able to moderate comments, post, or comment on anyone else's blog. BUT hopefully the problem is now fixed.

Anyhoo, enough about my problems...I've got a masculine card to share with you today...a Father's Day card for my FIL. His birthday is next week, so I need to get going on a card for that, too...

I did a bunch of challenges for this one: Curtain Call Color Challenge 33, CPS170, Caardvarks embossing challenge, Really Reasonable Ribbon challenge #1--masculine, and Paper Players 1--Father's Day/masculine. Hope you like it!

Paper: Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, PTI white, SU pp
Ink: Night of Navy
Accessories: Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, SU ribbon, dimensionals, Martha Stewart scallop dot punch

Memories of You

This week's Paper Blooms challenge is to create a project for a dad or special man in your life.

My dad died when I was little, so a card was out of the question, and I don't scrapbook, so...I finally decided to create this keepsake tin to hold memories and photos of my dad. This is a versatile project that you can create for any special person, not just a dad.
I decorated the front of the tin with this definition stamp, some silver pearls, and of course, one of Leah's blooms.

Then I made some simple cards to slip inside the tin.

You can write special memories on each one. I think this would be a great way for each child or grandchild in your family to write down their thoughts. There's room to add photos or other mementos, too.
Wanna play along? Just link your finished project to the Paper Blooms blog. You do NOT need to own any Paper Blooms to play along, but if you've got some, we'd love to see 'em.
Stamps: Define Your Life (SU)
Paper: Old Olive, Night of Navy, PTI white, SU dp
Ink: Old Olive
Accessories: crocheted flower (Paper Blooms), button, silver cording, ribbon (SU), pearls (Michaels), corner rounded punch, recycled tin (SU)

Father

I still needed to make my FIL his Father's Day card, so when I saw this week's Raspberry Suite colors were green, black, and cream, I figured they'd be perfect for a masculine card.

I kept this one simple, since the men I know don't seem to like or appreciate the fussier cards. I did a bit of distressing, then added a few buttons.

Stop by tomorrow to see my project for the next Paper Blooms challenge. I'll have a Father's Day gift idea to share.

Stamps: Lovely as a Tree (SU), Mega Mixed Messages (PTI)
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Basic Black, Old Olive dp (SU)

Ink: Basic Black, Old Olive
Accessories: Nestabilities circles, distressing tool, buttons (BasicGrey)
