Aloha!

WARNING: Excessive whining ahead!

This week's CAS challenge is to use turquoise, orange, & yellow on your card. I finally discovered the one disadvantage of being on a design team: Even if the mojo is gone, the card must still get made. Add to that the fact that I don't much care for orange or yellow...you get the picture. I think it took me about 2 hours to come up with this super simple card.

I've had the added pressure of trying to create 2 cards for a shoebox swap I'm doing today. I just sit and stare, hoping ideas will come. I have the remnants of about a dozen unfinished cards strewed about my desk. I HATE it when my mojo won't come, and I have to get things made.

Okay, whining session over.

Stamps: Aloha (A Muse)
Paper: Bazzill white textured
Ink: Tempting Turquoise
Accessories: flowers (Prima), rhinestones (Me & My Big Ideas)

Don't feel bad your MOJO is gone... mine took a trip for a week or so! LOL! I think it's that time of year... sun, fun, nice weather, and realizing school is not far off when you see all the items in the stores already! And you have an AWESOME card Ann! :)

Bummer about the mojo...I found that coming back from vacation did it for me...but it's slowly coming back...Dawn McVey's cards always get my juices flowing again!! Good luck!! And sometimes simple is lovely too...love those flowers :)

Oh I know the feeling of sitting at your craft table surrounding by loads of craft stash but unable to think of anything to make with any of it!!
However, you can rest assured that you made a very beautiful card.

I understand about your mojo on vacation but sometimes it's good to take some time off from it and come back all fresh and ready to start again. I spend many hours staring at my papers waiting for an idea to come :)
But your card is gorgeous! As always.
You think it's gone but trust me, it's still there, may be not fully :))

Ohhhhhhh ooowwww, ohhhhhh wooooooah! I so feel YOUR pain, SISTA! You just described my ENTIRE last week! SIMPLE is NOT simple! That's what I say! I truly LIKE what you came up with, though! Sometimes it's worth the pain just to complete the thing that vexes you! I bet you'll LOVE what you do next! Hope so! Craft ON, sister-FRIEND!

Oh yes, I can go with this. Piles of paper, an impending birthday or special card waiting,to be made that just sits there in bits poking out it's non existent tongue out at you! It cackles in voices only you can hear, 'you'll never make me!heh heh heh!' But then, suddenly, a great little card just magically appears!
Lovely simple card, and I'm not keen on yellow or orange either!!

Hey, your mojo may be gone, but look at the fab card you made without it. It's very, very cool!It really inspired me last night on my own challenge card--these colors are not exactly my faves, and your card helped me focus so much!!!

I'm more creative when there isn't a deadline! It's summer... your mojo's on vacation and will be back in a week or two! laura j

Dont sweat the mojo Ann. It will be back before you know it. Your mind is telling you that you just need a break in the action but I have to say that your CAS card is adorable.

I know what you mean...yesterday, I had almost given up on making those note cards for my mom because twice I started with papers and a layout and ended up scrapping everything...third time was the charm though when I finally got it to come together.

I love these colors together and I'm going to try and do the challenge too.

I like your way of thinking. Even if your MOJO is gone the card is has to go. I think there must be a place where are MOJO goes time to time. Like a MOJO vacation and they get together and just chill for awhile. Have a great week.

I love the simple card. I think it's cards like that, that inspire me the most. It is simple and pretty and I think anyone would like getting it! It may feel like the mojo has gone, but it doesn't look like it!!

So sorry you're having mojo issues. This card is so cool! The sentiment really goes well with the flowers. Great job! Hope your mojo comes back soon :)

I think this is cute. I'm a big fan of simple.

I know that feeling and I'm not even on a DT! lol Good luck wrestling that mojo into order, you can do it!

I know where you're coming from. I'm actually looking forward to getting laid off in Aug. so I have time at home with my son and as he naps, crafting... maybe getting my mojo moving for a change. A bit of a twisted desire, I know. :)

btw- I like the way you used the 3 colors- definitely not my fav. combination either but it works for an "aloha" theme.

Everyone is entitled to a whine once in awhile. :) Mojo or not, the card you made is lovely! I'm not a big fan of that color combo myself, but I'd buy that card.

So know what you mean about your mojo being gone but you still have to get things done...I love how your card came out though!

Sara Strand said...

Yah, my mojo is basically gone right now too. I wish I could be on a DT or have more swaps to do, thinking that it would help keep it going!

Sheri Gilson said...

I think it is a fabulous C&S card! I love how you used the flowers. :D

We all check out now and then..probably good so we don't get burned out :)
I love this card as usual..and especially love the colors!

I absolutely adore this card, Ann!

I always end up spending the majority of my card-making on 'deciding' how-to, rather than the actual execution of it! You did a great job on this!

xiumaiyuki said...

Oh Ann, I sat and stare all the time!!! Isn't it frustrating? hehe...

Super cute card! the orange really pops!

I should have added that same warning to my post this morning!

I so know what you mean about DTs and no mojo too. I made a few cards I thought might get me kicked off! lol!

I thinks this CAS card is just beautiful though! Sweet and simple!

A very kind and wise friend who sadly is gone now, used to say "This too shall pass". I'm sure your Mojo will be back soon Ann! I often wonder where all yours came from in the first place - daily posts and all - if only I could keep up... Love those flowers in any case. Cheers,
Shanna

My Mojo is M.I.A too!! I find a good surf around blogland is a good way to kick some life into the mojo (and a good cuppa of course!)
Your card is so pretty - had to laugh that it took 2 hours, I'm exactly the same LOL!
Hope you're not staring into space too long!

You did a great job with those colours Ann! I'm with you on the yellow...I find it really hard to use a colour I dislike!

Well, two hours or 2 minutes...it doesn't matter, this card is gorgeous!

That's what happened to me for over a week! Mojo and motivation were gone, gone, gone...I think they took the vacation that I didn't!! lol Well, your CAS card came out simply great! You have me dreaming of the ocean now. :>

I know exactly what you mean about being on a design team and not "feeling it" for every challenge. There was a challenge blog that I used to enjoy visiting every week. But now that I'm actually on the DT, I struggle to think of projects to fit the themes each week. It can be a struggle.

I do like how you incorporated this challenging color combo with the white card base and silk flowers.

I love the colors on this one! Make me want to go to the Tropics! Want to join me??? :)

Thanks for your honesty. I've been scrapping for years, but I'm new to the online communities. It's intimidating sometimes to see all that people come up with and the seemingly CONSTANT upbeat attitudes from all. I love scrapping, but we all hit walls sometimes. I appreciate a post that reflects that the artists I'm seeing are human like me! btw, love the card and love the cas.

I absolutely LOVE this card!!!!!

I know what you mean about the mojo thing, it can be tough. I do love this card, though! Simple and elegant.
