I found a brand new challenge blog this week called Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. Each week they will feature a different movie to serve as inspiration for your paper crafting.
The first movie to be featured is Pride and Prejudice. Now, as an English teacher, I'm probably prohibited by law from saying this, but...I've never seen this movie nor do I have any desire to. That being said, Colin Firth is a yummy piece of eye candy, and any inspiration involving his fine self is not to be missed!
I drew my inspiration from Mr. Darcy's wedding attire. I needed a masculine card for my hubby (our anniversary is on Monday), so I figured a manly man like Colin Firth would be a fitting inspiration piece (and that is one fine piece of...inspiration).
I used the colors, patterns, and buttons from his outfit to create my card. I embossed the heart and added a bit of twine to give it some texture.
Stamps: Always (SU)
Paper: Naturals Ivory, Night of Navy, SU dp (retired)
Ink: white craft, Night of Navy
Accessories: white ep, buttons (SU), hemp twine (SU)

Wow!! I love it. All of the layers are so great! I love the quote and the color scheme are perfect for the scene from the movie.
Heheh! You made me grin with your confession that you have no desire to watch Pride and Prejudice! Kinda takes the pleasure out of it when it's too much like work! ;)
I'm glad that you decided to take on the challenge though! Your card inspired by his handsome wedding attire is beautiful, and I hope that you and your husband enjoy a wonderful anniversary celebration!
Perfect interpretation of Mr. Darcy's wedding attire. I have yet to watch that version. I also love that Always set, I don't get enough chance to use it much. Much thanks for stopping by my blog!
great card! love the heart and the colors you combined to make this lovely anniversary card. It's Colin Firth worth! lol tfs
ok spill... I just saw your comment on my blog. who did you apply to? I'll tell you if you tell me! lol
Such a great card and I love the idea for the inspiration. Very creative. Thank you so much for visiting my blog and your kind words of condolence regarding my grandmother. You were very sweet to do that and I really appreciate it.
OOOOh!!! I love love it!! Your card is beautiful and it is a beautiful masculine card (can i really say that? beautiful and masculine in the same sentence...? :) I love the brocade background and the contrasting blue colors - beautiful beautiful beautiful!
I love the wedding scene (although I have to say that after seeing Mr. Darcy's tortured looks of the agony of love during the first 5 hours of the BBC version - it was a shock to see him smile :) The colors of your card are such a perfect match as are they to the fabric of the clothes from the period.
The sentiment at the bottom totally made my heart melt a little - for some reason - I can hear Colin Firth whispering that in my ear - and now I have a HUGE silly grin on my face as I type this ;)
I love your writing style - you were totally cracking me up ! When you wrote: "....so I figured a manly man like Colin Firth would be a fitting inspiration piece (and that is one fine piece of..... inspiration)...." I burst out laughing and then giggling...
Thank you so much for playing along this week! It is a total honor and I know that your husband will love your card! Happy wedding anniversary!!!
Hope you will come back and play this Saturday!
Best wishes always,
Sankari
(PS - I still have that silly grin on my face :) thanks for making my evening!!!)

This is such a fabulous challenge! Thanks for the link - I must look it up. Now, onto your card - obviously beautiful! so cool that you found beauty in the masculine side of the shot! What am I saying??!! It's Colin Firth - gorgeous man I would say!! I have never seen the movie or read the book, although my daughter the librarian, would be so ashamed of me for admitting that!! Thanks for sharing!
Oh....that is beautiful! Love your card!
Hugs and smiles
So pretty! ...and I love that wedding picture you have as inspiration!
ah..Mr. Darcy.... :) I love the card!
The card is lovely and you do Mr. Darcy justice! I lovethe heart against the beautiful light blue background!
How cool that your would still play along with with your adversion to P&P... I have to say you nail it though! The colors are devine :) and the picture cracked me up he looks like her is having fun(Wierd)! Part of Mr. Darcy's charm is how serious he is.
Please leave a comment for us about what movie that was made from a book is your favorite I am courios to know.. I only have a few that make the grade when it come to being made into a movie..
Thanks for honoring us with you challenge card and your honesty about you lack of love for our P&P choice. It really shows that we can all play along even if we don't share the same love of cinema. I know there are apt to me a few that I won't be viewing as well. I don't care for "R" rated movies. But I can still get insperation from them. Please come play along again...
Your a hoot.
