CHA Recap & Giveaway!

Well, CHA was amazing! Not only was the shopping fabulous (I dropped a boatload of $$ at the Papertrey booth), but I also got to see lots of famous crafters IRL..Dawn McVey was a highlight for me!

BUT by far the best part of the entire trip was meeting some of my blogging friends. Everyone was so friendly and fun...makes me wish that we could all (yes, YOU included) could get together for the world's biggest crafty party!

One of the first girls I ran into was Sankari. She & I first met almost two years ago through the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge. She is even more gorgeous IRL, and I do believe she's in the Guinness Book of World Records for "World's Best Hugger!" (Psst...Sankari was also the winner of 2 Sketches 4 You's Ultimate Card Showdown last year!)

I also finally met up with Kelly Marie. We've had a blast working together on the Everything But the Kitchen Sink DT. She is super sweet and every bit as cute as her Lawn Fawn stamps!

I made sure to find time to pal around with Courtney! She is both the mastermind behind the EBTKS challenges & proud owner of Practicing Creativity Designs. (Psst...she's also Paper Crafts Stamping Royalty this year.) I adore her sweet Southern accent!

I was surprised...very happily surprised...to run into Belinda! We became friends a couple of years ago through a blogging group on SCS and have remained blogging buds ever since. She's also this year's Paper Crafts Gallery Idol! Woohoo!

The fabulous Rae didn't disappoint...she was born in the town where I currently live and was raised here in IL, so we had lots to talk about. I teamed up with her in bloggyland through the Use It! challenges last year. You may also recognize her as last year's PC Gallery Idol.

Whew! After meeting all those wonderful girls, it made me wonder how I ever got to hanging around such a talented and FAMOUS group of ladies! Ah well, what they don't know won't hurt 'em, right? *wink*

Alright, enough of the blather, let's get to the giveaway! I've got some fun blog candy that I picked up:
Papertrey Hawaiian Shores satin ribbon
Jenni Bowlin felt butterflies
My Mind's Eye Abbey Road brads
American Crafts Poolside Thickers

All you have to do is leave a comment ON THIS POST that answers this question: "If you could meet any crafty person, who would it be & why?"

This giveaway will close on Wednesday, August 4 at midnight CDT. Winner will be announced Thursday.

I've never heard the use of IRL before, so fun to think of all these wonderful sharing people physically being in the same place. I'm going to say Karen Baker, b/c we have discovered that we've got a lot in common, chuckle chuckle.

Oh man... there are some many crafty ladies I want to meet! Right now though the top of the list it Teresa Collins... the stamp making machine she just came out with is awesome and all of her blingage is calling my name. It seems like I could connect with her after reading her blog.

Looks like you had a fabulous time at CHA! :) Thanks for the chance to win some candy! :)

Well it seems as if I've met most of my crafty idols, including Tim Holtz but there are at least two that I haven't met yet, JulieHRR (as we share the same birthday) and Beate. The sad thing is that Beate lives 45 mins away from me and I have yet to met her! Glad you had a blast at CHA. I was there 2 yrs ago and loved it, was wishing I could have gone again this year.

I have a huge list of candidates for this, but I think Gina K because she had the guts to jump right into the Stamp TV thing and that's on top of what she was already doing with the company! gutsy lady!

OMGosh:) It looks like a FUN time!!! I would totally want to meet owner and creator of Unity Stamp Co (Angela). I would ask her if I could work for her (you can't turn a person down if they are RIGHT there!!!). I would offer to do anything at her work! ANYTHING!! I also think she is amazing and super sweet!

Ashley Newell said...

Ok, so I'm gonna tell you someone who I haven't already met at last CHA since I've ALREADY met them and I'm not gonna say YOU b/c then people will think you rigged it if I win. ;)

I've love to meet Savannah O'Gwynn! I've love to see if her online personality matches the way she is in real life. Plus, her enthusiasm is pretty darn infectious.

I'd also like to meet one of my stamping idols, Jennifer Buck.
