The Butterfly Project

This week's Flutterby challenge is a special one. Rather than making a card, they are asking everyone to create a butterfly and donate it to The Butterfly Project. Here's an excerpt about what this project is:

More than 1,500,000 innocent children were murdered during the Holocaust. In an effort to remember them, the Holocaust Museum of Houston is collecting 1.5 million handmade butterflies. The butterflies will eventually comprise a breath-taking exhibition, currently scheduled for Spring 2012, for all to remember.

It's very simple to join in this effort. You can find all the details here.

This butterfly is just one of many I plan to send in. I used some textured cardstock and a few simple embellishments. If you have any larger butterfly die cuts (here I used my Nesties), this project will be a cinch for you. It's also a fabulous way to use up your patterned paper scraps, and I know we all have plenty of paper in our stashes.

Please join in this worthwhile project with me. Thanks!
