Hey, all! Is it just me, or is bloggyland a little quieter this week? I'm assuming people are trying to enjoy every last bit of summer before school starts. I go back on Monday, and the kiddos start Wednesday. You know, even after 11 years in the classroom, I still get nervous on the first day of school. I teach freshmen, so I'm always starting from scratch with names and faces--I think that's what puts me a bit on edge. I have that tiny bit of fear that's saying, "What if they all revolt? I don't even know their names to write them a detention!" Mostly, my brain tells me, "They're freshmen; they're terrifed," so it keeps the fear at bay.
Anyhoo, on to my card. It started out as this week's Card Patterns sketch, but it took on a life of its own. I love the end result. Not only did this take all of 10 minutes to make, but this color combo just makes me happy.
Only two more days until the Get Sketchy challenges begin. Hope you're as excited as I am! Stamps: Trees, Birds, & Messages (Hero Arts)
Paper: Basic Black, PTI white, Teresa Collins dp
Ink: Basic Black
Accessories: Nestabilities Labels 1, flower (Prima), ribbon (PTI), pearls (Kaisercraft), dimensionals
Totally fabulous! LOVE those gorgeous patterns, great colors too!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing to be a freshman year teacher! You get to be part of their introduction to high school. I am so in awe and completely grateful for people like you. I could never be a teacher...even the little ones scare me! lol!
