I decided to take the plunge and finally join in on one of the Cuttlebug Challenges. This week's challenge was red, white, & blue; buttons; and the Swiss Dots folder. Oh, darn, I had to use my Swiss Dots folder. It was tough, but I'm always up for a challenge; that's just the kind of self-sacrificing girl I am.
I struggled with the layout on this one, and I'm still not entirely happy, but I'm done messing with it. What do you think?
Stamps: Tart & Tangy (SU), Cupcake Collection (PTI)
Paper: Real Red, Kraft, PTI white, Bazzill textured white, SU dp
Ink: Real Red, Old Olive
Accessories: circle punches, scalloped circle punch, corner rounder punch, Cuttlebug Swiss Dots, buttons (BasicGrey), ribbon (Michaels), dimensionals
Sweet cherys on sweet card.

Cute! Love that ribbon, it's the perfect touch.
ReplyDeleteIt was cold and yucky here too yesterday. Can't believe it's July!
Oh... I think it is great! I love it! I love cherries... well... not to eat! Our fireworks got rained out as well... it was a beautiful day up until time for all the 4th activities to begin!

Hi Ann. I think you did a great job with the layout and that ribbon is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteOh, Ann, this is fantabulous!!! Love the Swiss Dots in white with the cherries and gingham ribbon!! So totally perfect!! I'm so glad you played along!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so cute and great take on the challenge.
ReplyDeleteBEAUTIFUL card! The gingham and cherry remind me of picnics, of which we got none either. No rain, but the heat, humidity, and bugs here in SC are not suited for a WA girl! I did however get started on an AWESOME scrapbook page, inspired by one of your works! I'll post later! Again, GREAT job on the card....I think I'm going to break down and get the cuttlebug after all.
ReplyDeleteGreat card Ann. Love the embossed background and the colors... cute cherrie image. TFS!
ReplyDeleteI love anything with gingham on it! And the cherries are perfect, I love this card! lol
ReplyDeleteIt is adorable! Cherries are my favorite fruit, I so love how they are popping up everywhere!
ReplyDeleteI think your card is darling! Great job! Sooo very sweet! I guess we lucked out on the weather in washington...it was perfect for bbq's & fireworks...icky weather on the 4th of July means more crafty time :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card Ann....I love cherries :) My DD was wearing a little dress yesterday that had cherries on it and wouldn't you know it?...she was eating cherries and dribbled cherry juice on it...I thought it was fitting. ha! Anyway, where do you live that it was so cold on the 4th? Man, that stinks! It was HOT here in Oregon!
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Katie

I can't believe you don't like this! It's adorable! I like the rounded corners, the gingham ribbon and the touch of soft blue along with your red and white. I know what you mean about the swiss dots. I have 20 embossing folders and I use that one 90% of the time I emboss.

ReplyDeleteWhere do you live for it to be cold on the 4th? You are a teacher?!? I did not know that....I love teachers. I'm a sahm, and usually (this past year we home schooled..we moved 3 times in one year...hubby is a helo pilot in the navy) anyhow, usually I volunteer around 3-4 days a week at my children's schools, schools these days need so much help and volunteers. Well that just makes me love you even more, knowing you are a teacher, so very cool!!

Looks like summer to me! Love the cherries and gingam!
ReplyDeleteThat is so adorable!
ReplyDeleteLove the cherries!
ReplyDeleteOhh, ♥ the embossed dots.
ReplyDeleteTart and Tangy is so, so cute.
I think she's super cute. I like the blue dot paper. Maybe you'll like it better if it were to run all the way across the card...no rounded corners.
But really, it is cute just the way it is. Love the fonts in the sentiment and the 'picnic' ribbon.
This card is going into my FAV's!! I love the ribbon and details are perfect... I'm a CB swiss dots lover! You did an awesome job... :)
