Get Well Wishes

Hi, all! Happy Tuesday! Today's card uses this week's 2S4Y sketch and is another get well card for my friend, Jenelle. You may remember I made this card for her a few weeks ago. She finally left the hospital over the weekend, but she's still in a lot of pain, and I thought she could use a little something to cheer her up.

For those of you who are so inclined, I'd really appreciate some prayers for Jenelle. She is only 32 years old and suffers from a myriad of chronic illnesses. She has a young son, and sadly, she probably only has a few years left on this earth.

I'm sure some of you are like me; we have good intentions, but we put off calling, writing, visiting with our loved ones, because we're "busy," and we think we'll always have more time. I'm telling you: pick up the phone, send that card, make that visit TODAY. You and your loved ones will be glad you did.

Paper: Taken with Teal, PTI dp
Accessories: flower (Prima), Nestabilities ovals, rub-ons (SU), rhinestones (Kaisercraft), ribbon (Michaels), dimensionals

I agree wholeheartedly with the advice in your post. We do get so busy and put off paying attention to others. What could be more important?

  30. I'm sorry your friend isn't doing much better. Fortunately she has a friend like you to think about her and send her lovely cards like this one. I like the random rhinestones.

I also know what you mean about not finding "time" for those in need. I have a 92 year old cousin in a nursing home. It was always my intention to visit him at least once a month, but since it's a 1-1/2 hour drive in each direction to get there, we really have to plan a whole day for a visit. And we haven't had that many free whole days in a while. I keep thinking that at that age, he might not be around much longer and I may not get that many more opportunities to visit. I do send him a card once or twice a month to let him know I'm thinking of him even if I can't be there.

  43. Ann, your post hits home to me, about putting things off like calling loved ones because we get too busy even though we do not mean to. My grandma isn't doing so well and it's so easy to forget to call because I live so far away. But yes, we should take time to get in contact with loved ones and show them we care about them. I hope your friends feels better. What a sweet card for your friend, I love the colors and the PP, I'm sure she'll like!

P.S: thanks for your kind words at 2S4Y! you are so sweet!

    Hugs

  44. I'm sorry to hear about your friend's illness. Your post is so true. One of my favourite Polish poets (Twardowski) once wrote that we have to learn to love people because they depart from our lives so fast. Your card is beautiful and for sure it will keep your friend's spirits up

  51. Ann - your story is so totally right on! So often life makes things that aren't really that important seem important and something simple like a phonecall or a card really makes the difference! Thank you so much for that reminder and I am so praying for your friend and her son - i can't even imagine.....

your card will surely cheer her up - you are such a good and thoughtful friend!
    Big hugs!
