Cinema Saturday Guest Designer

I'm SO thrilled to announce that I'm a guest designer this week for the Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge! The site is featuring a movie that's near and dear to my heart: To Kill a Mockingbird.

To Kill a Mockingbird is one of those rare films where the movie is (almost) as good as the book. The movie is #25 on the American Film Institute's greatest movies of all time, #1 on its courtroom films list, and Atticus Finch is listed as the greatest movie hero of the 20th century.

I have the privilege of teaching both the novel and film to my ninth-graders every year, so I wanted to make something special to keep in my classroom. I chose to focus on one of my favorite quotes from the film to create this framed piece.

I started with a $1 wooden frame from Michaels and painted it white. I printed out the quote on my computer, then stamped and embossed the bird in the corner. I finished it off with some Primas and bling.

I would LOVE to see you play along with us this week. Head over to Cinema Saturday Creative Challenge for all the details. Oh, and there's blog candy up for grabs if you participate--one random winner will be chosen. Click on the link to see what you can win...

Stamps: Always (SU)
Paper: Pink Pirouette

Ink: Versamark
Accessories: black ep, flowers & rhinestones (Prima), white paint, wooden frame

My fave book of all time and yup, the film is pretty amazing too! My fave quote has to be: "It was times like these when I thought my father, who hated guns and had never been to any wars, was the bravest man who ever lived."
    What a book eh?
Love your project - I'm lucky to aid in teaching this to our GCSE students every year - I get very passionate about it all LOL!
