50 Years and Counting

Yesterday's 365 Cards challenge was to create an anniversary card. It just so happened that I needed one of those...for a local pastor who's celebrating his golden anniversary in the priesthood.

At first I had NO clue what to make. Not only do I have zero gold supplies in my stash (I'm a silver girl), but I had to create a masculine card...for a man I don't know well...who's also a priest...you get the idea.

I decided to use Summer Sun cardstock in place of gold, and I happened to have these coordinating Thickers in my stash. I choose brown as a coordinating color, since Father Ric is a Franciscan (and they traditionally wear brown robes).

Since this card will be signed by the teachers at my school, I made it larger than usual (5 3/4" square) to accomodate all the signatures.

I think it turned out pretty good. What do you think?

Stamps: Congrats (SU)
Paper: Summer Sun, PTI white
Ink: Chocolate Chip
Accessories: Cuttlebug Houndstooth, circle punch, Thickers Daiquiri, ribbon (SU), pearls (Kaisercraft)
