New Year's Eve Party

Splitcoast is having a New Year's Eve party tonight by offering a new challenge every hour until midnight. I had a chance this afternoon to play along with some of them.

The first challenge was to create a friendship card using a food image. Now some people may not consider alcohol a food group, but I beg to differ. There's a cherry and lemon on the edge of that glass; ergo, it qualifies as food.

Although you can't see it in the pic, the dp is glittered, and I used a clear glaze pen on the cherry and a clear glitter pen on the pink drink.

The second challenge was to use a retired Stampin' Up set as the focal point of your card AND create an easily mailable card--no more than 3 layers and no bumpy embellishments. I pulled out the Big Blossom for this one and kept it clean and simple.

Challenge #3 had my name written all over it. All embellishments on the card must be bling--glitter, rhinestones, etc. I went to town on this one and blinged it out.

This final card faced the challenge of the "7 P's." You had to incorporate 4 or more of the following: Piercing, Patterned Paper, Paper Piecing, Polka-Dot, Pink, Punches, Pop-Dots. (The P's I used are in bold.)

Materials lists for all cards can be found in my Splitcoast gallery.

First off, congrats on finishing so many of the challenges. I read them and intended to do them but never got off the starting block. Yesterday was so hectic I was exhausted and in bed by 8:30!

I like the striped paper and nesties label 1 on the first card. I like the simplicity of the second card. The bling on #3...well, you just outdid yourself. And card 4 is just so cute. Great job!

Wowza. Busy, busy you. They're all great, though I must say that I like the drink card best and agree that alcohol is definitely a food group. So is caffeine. :)
